General FAQs

What is Lifesta?
Lifesta is a marketplace for people to buy and sell deals from "daily deal" (also known as "group buying") sites such as Groupon, Living Social, BuyWithMe and 60-70 others (and counting). On Lifesta you can buy deals you missed, look for interesting deals in your area, or sell any deal you bought and won't use. The purchase is immediate - pick the deal, pay, download the voucher instantly and enjoy. Every voucher is guaranteed to be authentic and usable by The Lifesta Deal Guarantee.

What are "daily deal" (or "group buying") sites?
Daily deal sites provide a great, affordable way to discover what a city has to offer by selling heavily discounted deals (often 50% and up) for products and services in the area. The sites receive significant discounts by aggregating large groups of people and guaranteeing a certain volume of customers to the businesses offering the products and services. The deals offered usually require that a certain number of people purchase the deal before it is available for the buyers' use.

How is Lifesta different from other daily deal sites?
Lifesta is not a daily deal site. There's no one-a-day or two-a-week or any other limited-time deals offered through Lifesta. Lifesta is a marketplace where you can buy and sell deals from other sites.

Does Lifesta screen, or inspect its sellers or deals?
No, we do not. Anyone can sell on Lifesta, as long as they adhere to Lifesta's policies and terms of use. If you see any seller activity that violates those rules in any way please report it immediately.

Can I see my transactions?
You can see purchases on our site: After logging in, click "My Account" at the top right corner of any page and click the "Purchased Deals" menu option. As a seller, check out the "Current Deals" and "Past Deals" options under "My Account". For detailed transaction data (including marketplace fees if you're a seller), check your Amazon Payments account.

Can I change my username or password?
Log in to your account, go to account settings, and change your username and password.

What if I need to report the content on a page?
Please click the "Report This Page" link at the bottom of each page and let us know.

What if I have ideas for the website or would like another feature?
Please click the "Leave Feedback" link on the right hand side of any page on the site, or use one of the contact methods outlined here.

If I need help, who should I contact?
Please check out the frequently asked questions on this page, and if you still need help, don't hesitate to contact us.

Buying FAQs

When and how do I get my deal voucher(s)?
The deal vouchers will be available in electronic format (.pdf or image format) in your account as soon as your payment is processed. To access and print them, go to "My Account" and check the "Purchased Deals" section. If you don't have a program to view and print .pdf files, download Acrobat Reader here.

When can I use my voucher(s)?
Vouchers are available for use immediately after your purchase was confirmed. Vouchers are typically valid for several months to a year. However, deals do vary - each voucher has associated terms and conditions as noted in the deal page on the originating site. Make sure to read them carefully and understand them fully before purchasing the deal.

Can I buy a deal as a gift?
Absolutely. Unless otherwise noted in the terms and conditions on the originating site's deal page, vouchers are transferable and could be gifted as you wish. Please note that some businesses restrict the number of vouchers which can be used by the same person, so you might not be able to gift multiple vouchers from the same business to one individual (e.g. you might not be able to give your mom two massage vouchers for the same spa).

Some stranger's name is on the voucher. Can I still use it?
Yes. Unless otherwise noted in the terms and conditions on the originating site's deal page, vouchers are transferable and could be used by a person other than the one whose name appears on the voucher. Lifesta's terms and condition prohibit sellers from selling vouchers that are not transferable. If you see non-transferable vouchers posted on the site, please contact us.

How much does it cost for me to buy on Lifesta?
Lifesta does not charge buyers any fees beyond the price of the deal, as listed by the seller.

Is it safe to buy on Lifesta?
Absolutely. We use Amazon Payments, one of the most trusted online payments services in the world, to process all payments. For your security, we don't collect or store credit card information, bank account or other financially identifying information; instead, we rely on Amazon to do so.

How do I pay for my order?
We use Amazon Payments, one of the most trusted online payments services in the world, to process all payments. During the checkout process you'll be directed to the Amazon website to pay for your purchase using one of the forms of payments Amazon accepts. After you approve the payment, you'll be returned to the Lifesta site for final confirmation of your purchase.

How do I know that the vouchers on Lifesta are genuine and haven't already been used?
Lifesta guarantees the authenticity of all vouchers you purchase on the site. If you discover that the voucher you purchased is not genuine or has been used before, please contact us immediately. See the next FAQ as well as our full guarantee information for more details about the Lifesta Deal Guarantee.

What is the Lifesta Deal Guarantee?
We want you to be satisfied with your purchase on Lifesta.com. If you buy a deal on our site and within 60 days find out it was invalid or has already beem used, we will refund your money. See the full guarantee information here.

I want a refund. What do I do?
If you found out that a voucher you purchased on Lifesta is invalid we would be happy to assist you in resolving the issue or getting a refund if necessary. Please email us at support@lifesta.com explaining when and how you tried to use the voucher and the issue you've encountered. Please DO NOT use the Amazon Payments system to report the issue, as Amazon does not have the necessary information to handle your case. Doing so will only slow down your issue's resolution.

Can I buy on Lifesta if I live outside the US?
Absolutely. As we use Amazon Payments to facilitate purchasing, you can buy on Lifesta using any non-US credit card accepted by Amazon.

What can I do with the generic Restaurant.com Gift Certificates for sale on Lifesta?
Restaurant.com vouchers are either specific to a certain restaurant, or are generic gift certificates. The generic gift certificates can be redeemed on restaurant.com for any other restaurant-specific voucher. Note that each restaurant places its own limitations on how its vouchers should be used. Availability of redeemable certificates is limited by a quota that Restaurant.com manages on a monthly basis. If you plan on redeeming the gift certificate for a specific voucher on restaurant.com, contact restaurant.com first to make sure they have those vouchers in stock. Please keep in mind that Lifesta will not process refunds because a voucher is not available for the buyer's specific restaurant of choice. Lifesta guarantees the authenticity and validity of generic restaurant.com gift certificates; however, we can't guarantee that they can be used towards a specific restaurant.
Note: Lifesta does not issue nor manage these certificates.

Selling FAQs

How do I sell deals on Lifesta?
That's easy! Just click "Sell A Deal" at the top right of each page and follow the instructions. We'll ask you to list your deal and then set up your seller profile, which includes providing your name, verifying your email address (if you haven't already) and setting up you Amazon Payments seller account. Done!

How much does it cost to sell on Lifesta?
It costs nothing to list deals on Lifesta - list as many as you like. When you actually make a sale, we charge you $0.99 + 8% of the sale price to cover credit card and other costs. Please note that you will not be charged any additional fees by Amazon to receive your payment from the buyer. This charge already includes all money transfer and credit card fees.

As a seller, how and when will I be paid?
As soon as the buyer is charged, the money is deposited into your Amazon Payments account. You can access your funds at http://payments.amazon.com. Note that Amazon hold your funds for 14 days before releasing them to you. You'll see a balance which is higher than your disbursable balance for those 14 days. Read more about Amazon's 14 day reserve. Lifesta has no control over this time period - Amazon does this to protect buyers in cases of fraud.

How do I set the price for my deal?
That is entirely up to you! Lifesta doesn't impose any restrictions on deal pricing. Take into account the need to recoup your original investment, along with the buyer's need to get a significant discount for the product or service they're buying, as well as the level of competition in the market for the type of deal you're selling.

Does my deal listing expire?
No, deal listings don't expire unless the voucher expiration date was reached. Your deal will be listed until either it's sold, you remove the voucher or its expiration date is reached.

What is the "original deal URL" and how do I find it?
The original deal URL is the link to the original webpage advertising the deal on the daily deal site you bought the deal from. For example, on Groupon, you can log into your account and under the 'My Groupons' section find the original URL, in the same place you go to to download your vouchers. Just copy and paste this URL. Otherwise you can Google your deal using the deal title and the deal website name.

I have more than one voucher for the same deal. What do I do?
Post all the vouchers you have under the same deal. When you create a deal, you'll be asked to upload a voucher for it. If you have more than one, click "Add another voucher" in the "Vouchers" section. You can add as many vouchers as you wish.

We're proud to use Amazon Payments to process transactions. For your added security, we don't collect or store credit card information, bank account or other financially identifying information; instead, we rely on Amazon to do so. You'll need to have an Amazon account to use Amazon Payments, but signing up is quick and free. If you already have an Amazon account, you don't need to create a separate Lifesta account. Turning your current Amazon account into a seller account is easy, just follow the instructions on your seller profile page.

Amazon is saying my account is verified but Lifesta still says it's not. What's up?
This means that for some reason Amazon is still telling us that your account is not verified. To troubleshoot this issue, go to your "Seller Profile" page, click "Having trouble verifying your account?", and follow the steps to verify you Amazon account. Your "Seller Profile" page could be found by clicking "My Account" at the top of any page after you log in, and then selecting "Seller Profile" from the menu on the left.

Can I sell on Lifesta if I live outside the US?
See amazon's payment user agreement for full details. At this point, creating a seller account requires a US address. Furthermore, Amazon provides limited privileges to parties that are not US citizens / permanent residents, or are not business entities authorized to do business in the US. For more details, see Amazon Payments' User Agreement.

Can I sell a Canadian deal?
We've added Canadian cities to Lifesta, but the limitations of the Amazon Payments system still requires the seller to have a US credit card or bank account. Read the previous answer to understand the other limitations. We've asked Amazon to start supporting Canada. You can help us by sending them feedback at Amazon Payments Feedback.
